The owners were very helpful and considerate and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, quiet and well furnished. A good breakfast of your choice, well cooked with cereals as well if wanted. The ensuite shower room was adequate but could do with a mirror over the hand basin as being a wet shaver had to use the cupboard mirror over the loo. Could do with a bath mat in the shower tray as well, otherwise would highly recommend.

Close to beach, station and town centre with good parking behind property.

29th August 2018:

Very friendly hosts with lots of local knowledge; very chatty daughter who we met on the beach later and came over for a nice chat. She told us were to go for fossil hunting; we followed her advice and had a lovely time before our drive home. Room is extremely comfortable and clean. Tea and coffee available in room with a bottle of water as well. TV in the room with Netflix which my daughter was very happy about.

Tips:

Steam railway to Corfe is cute. The model village is cheap to get into but very small - no pun intended. Monkey world is fun; monkeys were quite lively on the day we visited so we enjoyed the entertainment. Although most stoney we enjoyed walking down to the beautiful coves; wear propper shoes as paths can be stoney. Definite view is the cliff at the stair hole at Lulworth. If you are able climb down onto yhe pebble beach. The rock formation is amazing. Have a cream tea at Clavell's restaurant in Kimmeridge. Then drive down to the bay and hunt for fossils (£5 fee to drive down and park) check tide times so as to get most out of your visit.

Warm welcome, friendly and helpful with information and advice about the area. Excellent choice and quality of food at breakfast. All areas newly decorated, spotless and comfortable.

Tips:

Fish and chips along the beach is a must. the boat trip of 2.25hrs long Jurassic coast with CityCruises was great. A visit to Corfe Castle and of course ride on the steam railway to complete the experience. The walk to Durdle Door from Lulworth Cove is not for the faint-hearted, but breathtaking views. Lulworth is unspoiled, well maintained and peaceful, even on a very busy day.

Tips:

Excellent location close to town centre, rail and bus station. Swanage is a smashing holiday destination, not too big and not too small. has a great beach but there's also a theatre/ cinema on the front. Poole and Wareham are not far not forgetting the majestic ruins of Corfe Castle.

We had a lovely 4 day break at the Millbrook Guest House with two friends. Many thanks to Tracy and Anthony for their hospitality and friendliness, which made our stay so enjoyable. We would definitely recommend it and hopefully stay again in the future.

Tips:

The Black Swan Inn does excellent food but it is important to book in advance. We enjoyed an excellent fish and chip meal at Harry Ramsdens. A trip on the steam railway to Corfe is essential especially as the Guest House is so near to the station. We also recommend Durlston Country Park, the Blue Pool and Kimmeridge.

Some lovely walks along the coast towards Studland and also to the west. If you are taking children then go along the beach past The Bull & Boat and beach huts. the beach is quieter there and just as sandy. there are toilets and places to get good food.

Very nice stay, breakfast was excellent, room was very clean and nice and quiet at night so we slept very well. Hoteliers were very friendly and welcoming and helpful in suggesting places to visit in Swanage and tourist attractions in Dorset.

Tips:

You'll need to be aware of bus timetables in Swanage especially if traveling to areas further out as some last buses finish around 5pm as we discovered when visiting Durdle door on a Sunday. Also shops in Swanage don't stay open very late... seems to all shut down around 5-6pm. If you're used to places staying open till late like London you'll be caught out.. so be aware if you come back from a day trip and fancy a nice restaurant or bar... your going to be limited on availability and if you're in a bed and breakfast you might stay hungry until the morning unless you stock up from a shop before they close. Swanage council should move with the times and open up Swanage a bit later if they want to encourage more tourism. This is my only criticism.. apart from this the people are friendly and the town is clean and very pleasant for a short break.

I was alone but felt at ease. I would highly reccomend this guest house and will return here when I next visit. Thank you both x

Tips:

Had a lovely train ride to Corfe castle nice to see the old trains still in service. There is a lovely little village with some nice tea shops that do lovely cream teas. The town of swanage has a nice beach area and crabbing for the kids keep them amused for hours. Was only here for weekend and found enough to do. You can travel out to other places around if there for a week or more.

We were very impressed with Millbrook Guest House. We had a very comfortable stay. As we are gluten free, Anthony and Tracy gave us gluten free sausages with our delicious full English breakfast. Also, they gave us so much local Swanage and surrounds information, that really helped us plan our 3 day stay.

Tips:

The Black Swan pub was a fantastic place to eat in in Swanage and just up the road from this guest house. We ate there every night! Also, we needed to book in even on a Monday night and it was full of locals, so obviously a very popular place! Also, the walks around the nearby Durlston Country Park which is full of wildlife, the walk from Kingston to Corfe and from Studland Village back to Swanage via the stunning Old Harry Rocks and the cliff top walk are beautiful walks and are a short bus ride away to their starting points.

Really Great Stay Anthony and Tracy were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, very comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was superb with local produce. Millbrook is in the centre of town and very well situated for shops, pubs and restaurants, beach and steam railway. Reasonably priced; we had a great stay, would definitely recommend and would love to come back to Millbrook when next in Swanage.

Tips:

If you are visiting Swanage when it's likely to be very busy (we were here for the Swanage Railway Spring steam gala) you really need to book your evening meals in advance as we did (except on one night when we finally got in somewhere after trying several places), especially for the Black Swan. The only thing which I found a little frustrating is the shower which could do with a booster for the water. I would recommend Millbrook Guest house to friends and family.

Tips:

Go to The Pig On The Beach, it's wonderful, but you'll need to book.

Absolutely fabulous stay at this BnB. We stayed for my husbands birthday, after booking I received an email asking for any requirements needed for our stay.I commented on saying it was my husbands birthday and staff at this BnB went out their way to make our stay even more special by decorating our room with balloons and birthday bunting.we were welcomed by Tracey who opened the door with big smiles and happiness. Both Tracey and Anthony were very friendly and helpful.facilities were brilliant very clean and felt very homely. It was a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend anyone who just wants a pleasant, quiet stay in swanage to stay at the Millbrook BnB.

Tips:

While staying at the Millbrook we were highly recommended to eat at the black swan very local to this BnB . Well let me just say you wont go hungry

Best guest house ever. A beautiful house, fantastic hosts, a brilliant room with a comfortable bed that was huge! Scrumptious breakfasts, a real home from home. Everything you need to make your visit complete is here. We will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Tips:

A short walk to the rear of the guest house is a bridge giving a birds eye view of Swanage Steam Railway, in one direction is Swanage Station and the other the service yard, a must for any steam train enthusiast!

My Wife and I stayed at Millbrook for our wedding anniversary, to say we had a fantastic stay there would be an understatement. Everything was perfect for us. Tracy & Anthony were superb hosts, really great genuine people who would go out of their way for you. Our room was incredible value, great ensuite room, real contemporary feel to the décor (which my wife LOVED), excellent facilities, the breakfast was equally impressive. We will definitely be returning to Millbrook guest house!! 10/10 RATING FROM Adam & Michelle

Tips:

Corfe Castle & Lulworth Cove are two of our favourite trips in Dorset. We sampled the new Harry Ramsden restaurant on our latest visit to Swanage, it exceeded our expectations. Very very impressive food & excellent service from the new team.

Although we were only able to stay for one night our stay at Millbrook definitely rated as the best B&b that we have stayed in. We were given a warm welcome on arrival, information about keys and breakfast time etc. The room was excellent, with facilities for tea/coffee making, - excellent quality tea and coffee. Biscuits and bottled water also supplied. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, as was the rest of the house. The room and ensuite was spotless. Excellent breakfast was provided, with a wide choice. We would certainly recommend to others.

Tips:

We used Swanage as an area to walk in. Lots of good walking in the area, along with other places of interest. The Black Swan had a really interesting menu, is obviously very popular and you need to book in advance- we were not able to eat here as they were fully booked. We ate in a Pizza restaurant, which had a pizza and pasta menu offering a good range. The food was good and the staff were efficient and helpful. In January some restaurants were closed. We assume they are open in the summer months. There were pubs and fish and chips offering evening meals, also an Indian restaurant open.

We have stayed in Swanage several times before so we know the area quite well. Very nice place, the best view I've ever had from a Guest House. The owner are very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the size of the room. It's a little bit small with no real place to put the bags. But considering all the other positive aspects, it has benn okay for us.

Tips:

Car parking in front of the Guest House is permiited for only one hour from 10am to 6pm, and free for the night. During the day, toll Car parking is possible at the begining of the street for maximum four hours. The machine for the parking fees accept only cash.

An excellent establishment with the owner's ensuring the details are all covered. Immaculately clean and recently tastefully redecorated. Don't want to praise this Guest House too much as I don't want to diminish my chances of being able to book to stay again.

Tips:

If you are a steam train fanatic ensure you get one of the rear rooms as you will benefit by being woken by the aroma of anthracite and be able to see all of the train movements in and out of Swanage station.

We had a very enjoyable stay, absolutely no complaints other than we wanted to stay longer! Even though it was our first visit we felt really at home, the owners are lovely and sociably and it being a family run establishment really made a difference. We will defiantly return as soon as we can find a vacancy.

Tips:

Warm, comfortable, friendly guest house. Ideally situated near to town centre and facilities but in a generally quiet location. There is a wide variety of accommodation in Swanage but my wife and I have returned to Millbrook on and off for around twenty years, if you want to stay in Swanage, look no further than Millbrook!

Millbrook is just a few minutes level walk to the bus station, the railway and town centre shops with the excellent Swanage beach just beyond.

Tips:

Swanage beach can sometimes be quite busy even outside school holidays. We love Studland beach which never disappoints. With one complete day of rain and 4 children we enjoyed Durleston Castle and lots of swimming at the Swanage Bay View holiday park. The pool facilities are open to the public; the facilities are good and several lifeguards were on duty.

We enjoyed our stay and felt we were well looked after. The room was exceptionally clean - an important factor, wherever we stay! The service was very friendly, helpful and down to earth. Overall everything seemed very well thought out and organised. The only issue was with regard to parking. We read before we arrived that there was parking and no need to reserve, but when we arrived there were no spaces. As it turned out this was not a major issue, but on arrival it was a bit concerning and unexpected.

Owner Response:

Firstly thanks for taking the time to review your stay. We are lucky at Millbrook that we have off road parking and there is space for 6 cars, Millbrook is also situated in an area surrounded by non restricted parking. We don't allow parking to be reserved and with Swanage being a Victorian town (no cars about so no driveways etc) I don't know of an easier to park in guest house, unfortunately in busier times we are not going to be able to accommodate all guest cars off road.

Owner Response:

We are lucky enough to have off road parking and to be located in an unrestricted parking area (Swanage is a victorian town and not designed for cars on drives) and to maximise this then some cars have to block others. We know whose cars these are and ask those owners to leave keys in room if they go out just in case, in this instance the guests were in and able to move.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Maintained and decorated to the highest standard. Good breakfast provided and quite the cleanest guest house we have stayed at. Highly recommended.

23rd February 2016:

Thank you for allowing me to use the room for the day at a wall extra charge. It was really handy as the weather was anything but helpful! Enjoyed our stay very much. Usually we stay in our caravan when we are in Dorset, but this was definitely a cut above.

Tips:

Good recommendation from Anthony to eat at the Black Swan. Lovely food and a great atmosphere. Had it been anything but a rainy Sunday in February, I would imagine booking would be essential. Really handy for the Town Centre and the Railway.

13th January 2016:

Millbrook House is in the perfect location. Close enough to all amenenties and the beach, but with a short distance for quietness. We stayed here for New Years Eve and was great! Friendly, clean, nice size twin room, nice modern decor with bathroom. As it was cold the room was warm & cosey. We walked into the town center to pubs so no taxi needed, taking all of 5mins!

Tips:

It was our first time staying here for New Years Eve as the main suare opens for a fun street style party with fireworks. Nothing expensive but wandering into different pubs lots of people in fancy dress made a really good eveing! All free and a good laugh. Really reccomend it.Not much to do the next day but grab some food and wonder along the beach front. A good start to the New Year!

3rd January 2016:

A really nice, traditional B and B, but with free WiFi, flat screen TV etc. Staff very friendly without being nosy! I was a little bit confused about when the heating was on and off, sometimes the radiator was boiling, at other times cold, despite being on the same setting. However, I was not cold, due to excellent insulation, which also helped to keep room very quiet. Excellent breakfast, great range of fresh fruit, home cooked 'full English' etc.

Tips:

Parking in Swanage is tricky, but the customer parking in Milbrook is walking distance from the town and free! Had a lovely meal in the Black Swan, but go early, very popular.
