8th November 2020:

The house was beautifully individually decorated, with lovely art work and finishings - it felt like “home” rather than holiday accommodation. It was extremely well equipped. The house was very clean and we felt very safe, especially in these “Covid times”. The location was very convenient for exploring the area and it was lovely to come back to such a cosy house! It was great fun trying cooking on the Aga and we got the hang of it quickly. The owners Heather and Alan were quick to answer any questions we had. This was our second visit (the first being 12 years ago!) and the property is as lovely now as it was then! We shall definitely be back!!

Tips:

The Shave Cross Inn was great for dinner but do book because it was busy the night we went! The Seaton Tram was excellent, especially for my train loving son!

Both Greenwich and Chideok cottages are spotless, beautifully decorated and in such a great spot. Owners always on hand to answer any queries.

Tips:

Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock a great spot by the sea for brunch, other good venues for food include The George opposite, a lovely stroll to The Anchor and the 3 Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock.

Lovely cosy cottage. It had everything you need and was clean and tidy throughout. The wood burner was great (particularly as the weather was awful), we appreciated the logs, newspaper & kindling left for us to use. The owners have put in lots of measures for COVID 19, and as a result we felt safe - Thank you. Hopefully we can make use of the beautiful garden next time!

Tips:

Make sure you book meals out in plenty of time to avoid disappointment- even out of high season pubs etc are busy.

Another wonderful stay at the cottage - our 4th year of visiting Chideock. Impressed and relieved at the COVID-safe steps taken to safeguard guests. As ever, the warm welcome and cosy comfort really helped us relax. Highly recommended.

Tips:

Book a wine tasting at The Furleigh Estate - well worth the money to get an idea of what they do. The George is the best pub in the area and Thursday pizza night is a must :) Great good & drink, staff & service. Abbotsbury Tropical Gardens are a lovely way to pass a relaxing few hours.

Property immaculate on arrival, Heather extremely welcoming ( socially distancing in the garden) and explained things clearly like how the Aga worked. Comfortable beds, outdoor area was excellent for sitting out and Bbqs

Tips:

We enjoyed: Walked from Lyme Regis ( caught morning bus from pop George) and walked back - about 9-10 miles and several ascents and descents so pretty strenuous but amazing coastal scenery so need a clear day. Walking to the Beach for swim/drink at The Anchor. Pizzas ( Thursday's) from the George - wood fired with lots of topping. Abbotsbury subtropical gardens. V Hilly area for cycling, electric bike a good idea if not used to this type of cycling

Incredibly efficient booking service from start to finish and always on hand to answer any questions once at the Cottage. We have stayed in Greenwich Cottage twice now and I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of visiting the area - always immaculately clean and has everything you need and in such a peaceful spot.

Tips:

The George pub literally over the road from the cottage is great for food, as is The Anchor at Seatown, a very pleasant 20 minute stroll from the Cottages. This is set right on the beach, a great setting especially for a warm evening. The Three Horseshoes at Burton Bradstock also does good food - but gets booked up quickly in the summer. The Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock is a great spot for a late breakfast or lunch overlooking the beach. No bookings taken here.

Excellent location and very nice accommodation + lovely garden.

Tips:

We really enjoyed going to the Anchor Inn at Seatown - it's just a short, enjoyable walk away plus they have a non-booking policy which makes things very flexible. And we didn't have to queue for too long to get in on the two occasions we went there.

We are serial returnees as we enjoy staying at the cottage so much, always get a warm welcome and told about new places to try for meals or days out.

Tips:

We walked up to the beacon which we had never done before, great views at the top. The George Pub actually delivered some pizzas we ordered which was very kind of them. It's worth a trip to Burton Bradstock and calling in to a local cider farm shop on the way back, there is a lovely cafe on site at the farm too.

Heather and John were accomadating and friendly to deal with, they had obviously spent time looking and implementing procedures for stays because of the Covid situation. I was really happy with the extra measures to ensure everyone's safety. The cottage was immaculate throughout.

Tips:

The George over the road and the anchor at seatown are both really good pubs with food. We liked West Bay best with the harbour beach areas best. You can also hire Canadian canoes and go up the river Brit from here, good fun.

Having stayed at Greenwich Cottage in June this year, we were delighted that Heather and Alan could accommodate us for a short break in Chideock Cottage, in late September. Like Greenwich, it was very clean, cosy, comfy and well-equipped and we had a great weekend exploring the area again. Can't rate it highly enough.

Tips:

Fab coastline with walks from the door. Good food at Anchor Inn Seatown, George Inn Chideock, Hive Beach Cafe, Downhouse Farm cafe and Symondsbury estate cafe. Lyme Regis lovely to explore and Tierra Kitchen has lovely food.

We stayed in both cottages during our stay as we asked if we could book an extra night and Greenwich was booked so we moved into Chideock. Both cottages are set in a .beautiful location and sit in lovely gardens which are very well maintained. The cottages are very well furnished and equipped ,very much homes from home. Heather and Alan are extremely good hosts and obviously enjoy what they do. These cottages are very much a year round holiday base and would lend themselves to winter breaks with the woodburner in Greewich and the Aga in Chideock

We found the cottage well equipped and comfortable and well situated for discovering the area. We would have given a score of 5 for the location of the cottage but access to the main road was difficult at times due to the heavy traffic passing through the village but we managed ok.

Tips:

The Clock Public house was our favourite place in the village for eating out, the stake and ale pie was excellent and reasonably priced. Lime Regis was a nice place to visit but rather hilly to get down to from the carpark at the top of the cliff especially for the more elderly folk like our selves but we managed ok. We found Beer to be a nice place to visit with interesting small shops. We visited Abbotsbury Subtropical gardens they were out of this world! Best gardens we have been round but of course it was May and a bright hot sunny day. There is a nice café on site also. Portland Bill was a nice area. The Hayloft Café was a great place to have lunch or a snack. Only opened this spring, good food at the right prices. Lots of other places!

Beautifully furnished cottage with quality equipment in a stunning location. Very restful and an ideal place to escape and recharge your batteries. Good walking country if you don't mind steep inclines but fabulous views.

Tips:

Food at the George is very good. Nice walk to Seatown along the bridleway and the walk to West Bay is worth the effort (but tough in places). Lyme Regis is a short drive away with some fantastic vistas. Tasty produce from Mill Farm.

Immaculate home, extremely well maintained, very good decor, fittings and facilities. Thoughtful hosts. Beautiful private gardens and sitting out area.Everything is of a high standard and it all works here. The hosts Heather and Alan have well thought through guests requirements and provide a excellent quality of service.

Tips:

Lots of lovely beaches, and walks, plenty of eating opportunities. If you have reluctant walkers and want to do the Golden Cap park about a mile up the road at the NT car park think it was called Larkhill well sign posted. Parking at Seatown good too if u have a lots of stuff and little ones to cater for only £3 and u can get it refunded if u spend at the Anchor pub.

28th May 2017:

A beautiful cottage ideally located to explore the Dorset Coast. Comfortable and cozy with everything you need catered for, an extremely comfortable bed much needed after a days walking and a view from the bedroom window that makes you want to get up and get out. The cottage garden is tranquil and sunny and a peaceful place to relax, with lovely garden furniture and sunloungers in which to relax.

Tips:

The George across the road was lovely, and the pizza night on Thursday is worth going to. The Clock served good pub food and also showed the football (happy husband) and the Anchor Inn at Seatown is also lovely. We travelled into Lyme Regis one evening (not far) and had an excellent Italian Meal at Antonio's Trattoria - traditional home cooked Italian food (not a pizza in sight) which was amazing and we'd highly recommend. We did Coastal walks which were truly stunning.

Beautifully appointed cottage in great position. Very welcoming - tea tray with Dorset biscuits on arrival and milk (and wine!) in the fridge. Aga kept us cosy - pretty garden for sitting out in when weather permitted. Nothing to fault!

Tips:

The George across the road is a friendly pub serving good food - wood fired pizzas on Thursday recommended. Live music at times too! The Anchor at Seatown - an easy walk away - is award winning and serves fantastic food. Lewesden Hill near Broadwindsor is great for walking - especially for bluebells. Abbotsbury is well worth a visit - we have done three of the circular walks - all excellent. Lyme Regis always worth visiting -sea front, lovely park - with crazy golf! and great crab sandwiches at the Royal Standard.

We stayed at Greenwich Cottage, a beautifully presented holiday property, which we found to be warm, welcoming and pristine, with everything we needed. The garden deck and seating to the rear is an absolute delight with such a beautiful view of the countryside and hills. We intend returning for a longer stay, we want to see so much more of the area. We highly recommend this holiday property.

Tips:

Walk to Seatown beach, it is a delight and so quiet. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are just 40 minutes away, as are Minterne Gardens, you will pass a viewing point of the Cerne Abbas Giant en route. For the men - Bovington Tank Museum - ladies drop them off and go shopping !

We had a lovely stay in Greenwich Cottage. Short stroll to Seatown with gorgeous views on the way. Close to Lyme Regis & West Bay which we visited often. The Cottage was beautifully clean with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Felt like home from home. Was just a shame the log burner was playing up as a roaring fire would've made it complete but can't be helped. Great view from the garden. Absolutely exceptional. Thank you.

Tips:

We had pizza on the Thursday evening at the George Inn across the road and it was lovely. Very friendly and accommodating. Very child friendly which is often hard to find. They even had some toys for James to play with. Lovely walks in West Bay across the cliffs and then back onto the beach. Lyme Regis has a great sandy beach for children to play on.
